We use bootlace ferrules throughout our electrical work at Falcon Overland because they make stranded cable terminations cleaner, easier to install and more consistent.
Ferrules help keep flexible cable strands together when inserting them into screw or clamp-style terminals, reducing the chance of stray strands and helping create a neat, secure connection.
They can also help protect the exposed conductor from damage and corrosion at the termination point.
Why Use Ferrules?
When flexible stranded cable is used in a grub screw or screw-clamp connector, a correctly sized ferrule can provide a much cleaner and more secure termination than clamping directly onto loose strands.
This is particularly useful in 12V automotive, 4WD, campervan and off-grid electrical systems where vibration and movement are common.
